Lessons of the History and the Future of the United Europe

On April 22-24, 2010, youth organizations took part in the International Conference “65th Anniversary –  End of World War II – Lessons to be Learned from History" in Bratislava (Slovakia).

The international conference was held under the aegis of Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, King of Spain Juan Carlos I.

The conference was attended by representatives of the following countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Netherlands, the Russian Federation, Romania, the USA, Serbia, Slovakia, the UK, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Estonia. It gathered over 180 people from 73 public, academic, religious and youth organizations.

In his opening address, Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico noted problems in the youth environment:

"We must detect the cues that may indicate a pending catastrophe. We can still see that European youth is very much interested in fascism, black shirts... Black shirts are back in fashion".

In the environment of the observed "value crisis", most young people are totally indifferent, they “are absorbed by iPods, computer games and pay no attention to what is happening outside their own little world".

"We should make every effort not to forget the lessons of the past... We must combat indifference and disinterest".

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
