On May 6, 2010, the International Student Festival was held in Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in the context of the Research and Education Program “Dialogue of Civilizations: East-West”. At the festival, youth programs of the World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” presented their own stand.

At the decorated main square of the University, there were over 100 exhibition locations where student fellow-countrymen communities from over 100 states demonstrated their national emblems, popular craftwork items, ethnographic exhibits, ethno-geographic peculiarities of their countries, samples of ethnic cuisine. Student fellow-countrymen communities introduced visitors to peculiar culture of their peoples, distributed booklets and other promotional materials about their countries, offered their traditional food, performed ethnic songs and dances, answered questions of the visitors. The festival gathered over 5,000 people of 140 different ethnic origins.

During meetings with representatives of the University, it was decided to work out a program of events for 2009 in the context of the Research and Education Program “Dialogue of Civilizations: East-West”. The program envisages organization of specialized seminars, round-tables and conferences under the auspices of the University.
